Why am I receiving renewal messages every 'x' times [Beta test]?

For testing purposes Playstore and Appstore make the testing periods for subscriptions much shorter than the actual periods.
1. A monthly subscription will expire in 5 minutes
2. An yearly subscription will expire in 1 hour
On android, on expiration, the subscription will renew for a maximum of six times. This means you'll get notification for renewals every 5 minutes(monthly subscription) or every 1 hour(Yearly subscription) for upto 6 times.
